Outside of Chase we do not have guys that can break a tackle and get yards. Taking only what the defense gives you is not a good strategy if receivers cannot move the ball after the catch.
Hudson would have ended up with ~15-20 more yards and a TD had he not fumbled and also been able to catch that tipped ball. That would have been a good outing for him if he had (5 rec, ~40 yards, 1 TD).
He's looked about the most dynamic the Bengals have had at TE in the Taylor era, other than possibly Gesicki.
I would like to see McLachlan in a game though, so I'd be ok having Hudson or All inactive a couple games to see what McLachlan can show.
I didn't really get to see McLachlan in the preseason because I had no way to watch the games.
I agree also on Burton. The way the game was going, the Bengals should have tried to get him on the field more than 4 snaps. Use as a decoy if anything.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
