Why is our line great pass blockers but poor run blockers

Different skill sets

It's more personality traits than anything else. Aggressive natured guys are naturally better run blockers, because they want to show the defender that he can be moved. While some of the pass blocking specialists, i.e. the "finesse" or "technician" types are generally a little more passive and thus less effective in run blocking.
