I'm a bit late to this one, but I saw this before the 4th and no foolin' that next week I was standing at the front desk of the post office by myself and a 20-something guy comes in and his hand is missing fingers and is pinned together and looks like gory jelly.  I was making every point to not look at it and I spent a few minutes listening to him and helping him set up a PO box and then my coworker comes out from the back and immediately says "Oh my god, what happened to your hand?!"

He candidly told us he blew it up holding a firework and after he left I admitted to her that she did indeed ask the question we all had on our minds.
