Pretty sure they're going to play him in hopes he either quits, gets killed on the field, or some crazy fan takes him out. 

I've been known to joke, but I do think they're furious.enough to spitefully run his ass into the ground. As a franchise their only way to save face with  fans and the universe is to put him in a position to suffer.
