I have no more expectation for this team, this is what the fans are willing to accept so I'll just watch because I'm a fan but I will no longer be emotionally invested if they don't care than I no longer care either..Every time I'm critical of zac on these boards it always goes to at least he won a playoff game, marvin may not have won a playoff game but at least he was very competitive within the division and his teams was very good at home in the regular season;I think he had 2 undefeated seasons at home and 1 season with only 1 lost at home..
Fun fact: Cappa really wasn't all that great before coming to the Bengals.
He's about the same dude he was when he was in TB, which was just ok.
Cappa had poor athleticism coming out of college, and it's seen sometimes when he's asked to operate outside of a phone booth.
Volson is also pretty much the same dude he's been his whole career in Cincy - up and down.
Now that Pollack is not only the OL coach but also the run game coordinator, there's no excuse why the run game has problems.
Before you could maybe say they were being asked to run plays that didn't suit the skill set of the guys they have, but Pollack has been a key factor in who they brought in and now also has a huge influence in the run blocking.
What I expect to happen - They'll bring in new talent as these current guys hit FA.
We'll potentially see a new C starting next year with Karras hitting FA.
Cappa and Volson will start next year, but they'll draft a dude in the upcoming draft to serve as primary backup for a year then take over for Cappa or Volson the following year.
If both Cappa and Volson depart in FA, Bengals will bring in a budget FA who will cost $10 mill APY or under to fill the other starting spot in 2026.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: 3-5 so far. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
