I think you need to ask yourself that very question.
The Bengals aren't good at CB. I don't see how you can sit there and pretend that Dax was moved to CB as a promotion or something. That wasn't some plan of the Bengals for him. It was done out of desperation to try and get something from a bust of a pick and the CB postion was open for a competition.
Dax beat out another underperforming player in 2nd year CB DJ Turner. That was a roster battle up until the opening game. Dax also couldn't find any role on the field until last season, when he got his lunch money stolen every week.
Listen to yourself.... You're hyping up winning the Bengals starting CB position when they are absolute hot garbage at that roster spot. "Buh buh but Dax was the best trash CB the Bengals have...." Yeah, man, we know, but it's still trash, regardless.
Before injury, Dax Hill was the 57th ranked CB in the NFL according the PFF grades.
20 tackles & 2 passes defended in 5 games before getting hurt. Whooooooo! Let's crown him, eh?
Take off the orange colored glasses. It's comical. Dax Hill is a 1st round bust. He would be a back up player on 25 or more teams in the league at ANY CB/S spot and that looks to be his career trajectory at this point.
