This offensive philosophy has a common denominator and that's scrapping the run when need to run it. Waaay too many 2nd/3rd and 2-3 yards on both sides of the 50 and to pass happy. Every team knows it as well. There's an element of toughness required and they don't have it thanks to coaching. Last week, up by 21 with 12 plus minutes left, they just threw a 15 yarder to the TE to the Raiders 35. What does ANY team do with a lead like that do? R=They run the ball. Bengals? Let's throw a quick screen.
3X last night they're on or inside the Ravens 40 with 2nd/3rd and short and they lose out on downs by throwing it and I'm talking low % pass plays where timing is required to the max. One time late in the 1st, up 7-0, Brown runs for 7 yards on 1st down inside the Ravens 40 and you don't see a run the next 3 downs. It's inexcusable.Another time on the 40 with a 3rd and 16 and instead of trying to get 7-8 yards back for a FG, yards which EVERY team will give you ,they try for the 1st down. It's a stressed-out, tense football team that has zero confidence.
The D played their asses off for 2.5 quarters and if you think any D in the league is going to shut the Ravens down for an entire game you're smoking something.
