Yeah, the Bengals were not trounced, by any definition I can find of the word "trounce." Maybe the writer was lazy and came up with the headline when the Bengals were down by 17.  If the Bengals defense could make a stop when everyone watching the game and the announcers knew that Fields was going to keep the ball, and just put someone on him, then Burrow and the offense would have had one more shot with about a minute to go.

As someone posted on X, "Everybody in the whole stadium knew that Fields was keeping this, except the Bengals players?"
