It's fun to wonder what baseball would be with a salary cap. The NFL is a cash machine that grows by leaps and bounds almost every year. Even fans of shitty teams are addicted to the idea that any situation can be turned around with a good draft or two. Nobody can build a mega-team and everyone has to spend money, to some extent.
The farce of a few franchises stacking up All Star teams is kind of an insult to fans, but no more so than the teams who cry poor and collect TV revenue. It's time to break it so it can be viable again. Hopefully a yearlong work stoppage doesn't destroy too much interest in the game.
