I have a tough time seeing them as Space Force, as they would use completely different propulsion in space, unless you are suggesting they are for searching out other planets and/or moons?

He did tell me that they have been doing this for quite some time, several years. The question is why are they suddenly making themselves so obvious?
We have had a few conversations over the years about actual outer space and the weaponization of the atmosphere. My friend is quite legit and has great knowledge on the SF. His immediate yes is gospel as far as I am concerned.
