Small Accomplishment - Mike Gesicki
#35
(Yesterday, 11:15 AM)SunsetBengal Wrote: Gesicki's $2.5M deal with the Bengals for this season ranks 89th overall for TE contracts, I think that it's safe to say that this is the "prove it" deal. I'm sure that he and the Bengals could strike a 2 year deal, but I'm guessing that it would likely cost $4-5M/per.

My only concern is Bengals offering a multi-year deal for someone who turns 30 next October.
Not that I personally am concerned with Gesicki's age, just that I don't think Bengals will given their recent history signing 30+ year olds to multi-year deals.

I'd be down to give Gesicki like a 2 year, $10 mill deal where Year 1 is like $6 mill and the 2nd is $4 mill in an anticipation of potential decline.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
