Bottom line Pratt missed tackles and constantly going for the strip giving up extra yards is not been good for the Bengals this year.
This! As someone else mentioned as well he plays very slow.
I counted multiple times when Denver ran for chunk yards that a LB was not in his gap assignment and who’s gap was it almost every time…Pratt. His INT yesterday was huge but he had little to do with it. Ossai actually hit the arm of Nix causing an under throw.
He started to annoy me when he lobbied to be a 3-down back which he is not by a large margin. I believe it was Newton that came up with a big tackle of the TE releasing from the line late in the game. Pratt was to pick him up and his break to go with the TE was slow and his speed to try and catch up was even slower. Pratt even gave Newton a tap on the helmet for making the tackle because Pratt knew he was toast.
Anyone notice how great the D was on the Denver final drive before halftime? Clear passing situation the whole drive so the Bengals were in dime coverage. Pratt was on the sidelines the entire time. Davis-Gaither is frustrating against the rush but he is solid in pass coverage. Fast forward to the Denver tying drive in regulation. Again, passing situation but the Bengals weren’t in dime coverage so Pratt was in. I also noticed Bell was in over Battle who obviously had an up and down game but right then seeing those two in I knew it was a bad situation. That’s clearly on Lou which is why he can’t be retained but it’s also highlights the inability of Pratt which is why he should be cut or traded.
