Sure, if Walters tells Burton "hey, we want you to become a perfectionist on running stalks, posts, post-corners etc." then I am all for it. I imagine they want more versatility out of him, though, and that would necessitate him becoming more comfortable with a wider variety of routes. I'm also going to speculate that Burton's problems aren't really on the field. I don't know what's been disproven or not at this point, but if he is really falling asleep in team meetings, being called out for maturity issues and all this jazz, he isn't going to have the focus to spend all that time working on the finer details of running a specific route.
There's always a chance that he turns it around but there has been a lot of smoke around this rookie and that normally spells trouble for their future. Here's hoping he works through it but I am highly skeptical he returns any value right now.
I agree that many signs point to off field issues.
I could only imagine the dumb ass crap I would do or get into with his fame and money at that age.
Hoping for the best because it seems Joe and Ja'Marr are in his corner, and an off season as a pro might help him get his head on straight.
Similarly, he may flame out and be another story of wasted talent and opportunity.
