A lot of this is just that message boards and people in general have their views "outcome based" after the fact. If it works, then he was a genius, if not, then it was a bone headed move. Just like Burrow's "Superman" throw to Higgins. I see that as ill-advised and lucky not to have been picked, but it worked so instead it was just a brilliant play. Had it been picked, people would be saying, "Why would you throw that?" Same with play calling.
