The difference between our 17th overall pick on the trade chart and the 5th overall pick is 750.
Our 2nd round pick is worth 410, our 2026 1st round pick is likely (lets assume the 25th pick, then decrease value by a round for it being a year in the future) worth 330.
So it would be more like our 1st, 2nd, and 6th round picks this year, AND our 1st round pick next year in order to get the 5th overall pick... probably more if the other team thinks we'd get later than the 25th pick next year (if they thought we'd be the 29th pick instead of the 25th, we'd need to add a 4th round pick).

That's a lot for a guy who is probably a 3-4 OLB rather than a 4-3 DE.
I'd rather just pay Josh Sweat a bunch of money to come here and play opposite Hendrickson... and then still have our 1st and 2nd round pick (and our 1st next year) to add more players.
