The Bengals are paying Joe Burrow 55 million per year. This means the Bengals would have 53 million left to pay Chase and Higgins if comparing to what the Eagles are spending for their QB + top 2 WRs. The Bengals could give Higgins his 25 million per year which would leave Chase 28 million per year. You think Chase would go for that to keep the gang together? Justin Jefferson got 35 million per year. If you give Chase a better contract at 36 million per year that leaves Tee 17 million per year. The comparison to the Eagles isnt valid because the Bengals would end up spending several million more on the QB + WR1 +WR2
....and the Eagles are only making that work because they are both drafting amazingly and they are kicking all of their cap hits down the road with void years. In 2027 they already have $228m in cap spending. In fact they lead the entire NFL in cap spending for '27, '28, '29, and '30.
They have $189m in cap allocations for 2028 with just 6 players under contract.
They have $199m in cap allocations for 2029 with just 1 player under contract.
And again, it's only working now because they are drafting amazingly. Also for every Eagles there's a Dolphins, and Browns, and Jaguars, etc.... and possibly the 49ers? (The 49ers, who missed the playoffs, have $223m in cap allocations for 2027 and HAVEN'T paid a QB).

The Eagles GM can ignore their future because the GM is not winning a SB away from being fired and if he fails to win a SB, he won't have to live with the results because he will be fired.
The Bengals have to live with what they do to the future because they're not firing family. Now the Bengals can certainly afford to push a bit MORE into the future as they're well below average on future cap allocations (which is probably a pretty big result of all the bad drafts) but you really shouldn't use the Eagles as a blueprint to try to emulate as you will fail and then your team will collapse in the future.
