Why wouldn't he be willing to restructure? All a restructure means is he typically gets more upfront cash. There isn't any change to the contract value from him. It's just an accounting change.
However, restructuring a players contract requires CASH. Given the cash that will have to be spent on other players, a restructure while would help create cap space, will be hard to do with cash strapped ownership
