Again, that's not an attack on Joe and I know he'd do it, especially since it would just be restructuring and not losing money, because he wants to keep teammates and win a Super Bowl, but I'm not overly wowed by his willingness to do this.
Again, don't get me wrong because he's an unbelievable leader and he'd do this without being asked by the interviewer, but I just didn't like the interviewer asking it.
Goodness gracious..I think my new life's mission is to get people to actually understand what a contract restructure in this context means. Given the amount of people that talk about restructures, the percentage of folks that actually know what it means is minuscule.
You at least know he wouldn't lose any money, but you realize there is no downside to the player to restructuring a deal like this? In fact, it's in their best interest to do so. The same amount of money now is worth more than that amount of money in the future.
