It's true they don't have the same amount of liquid cash on hand as other owners, but also they just are cheap and looking at it 100% as a business rather than 50% a business and 50% a status symbol/hobby/pasttime like other owners. It's a matter of them thinking that if they can get that $300m to $100m and push the other $200m to way in the future, that's $200m that they get months or even years to make money off of rather than letting someone else make that money.
Once the money is in escrow, they can't invest it and make money off it.
For example if they push even $20m in guarantees to 2027 rather than having to put them in escrow now, and they make 5% off it through investments for those two years, and that's $2,050,000 that they get back in their pockets.
Meanwhile players want those signing bonuses because that's money that THEY can make money off of now.
