I know he won't take a pay cut because he had a chance to take less not even 1.5 years ago and instead chose to be the highest paid player in NFL history. I don't blame him for it, I have always been a vocal supporter of players getting paid what they can while they can, but I don't want to then hear not even two year later that he's going to simultaneously buy a Batmobile and take a paycut right when his massive contract money is actually going to start coming in. It's a whole lot easier to not ask for as much initially than it is to get the money and then give it back.

This seems a whole lot like two offseasons ago when people were absolutely certain that blue collar Ohio boy Burrow was going to give a hometown discount and sign for pennies on the dollar so we could extend both Chase and Tee, and that they were going to follow suit because being together meant more to them than getting paid the most they could. Tried to warn people they were being absurd, that it's a business and these players often only get one real shot at a huge payday in the NFL and then they have fifty-sixty years post-NFL..... Then he got paid and NFL record $55m/yr and the second highest guarantee at signing in NFL history and Chase is wanting to be paid as the highest non-QB in NFL history. Welcome to reality.

I was never in the camp JB should give the team a discount. True, JB's motivation would be different from others. His motivation would be to help the team sign Tee and Chase to help him win and break records. He may not take less, but again we won't know HOW HE PLANS TO RESTRUCTURE UNTIL HE DOES IT.

Joe got a whopping over 111 million in cash in 2023 and 2024. Would you say based on his new earned money in last 2 years, maybe Joe is not as motivated by money since he is filthy rich now? Is it possible? We have seen Mahomes and Brady help their team manage the cap to have a shot at winning it all. Why not Joe?

The contract he signed was signed at a time when Bengals had no cap issues. He also has already been paid a boatload of cash for that deal in years 1 and 2.
