Now, IF, he was a TJ Watt that lines up all over the field and a player that teams have to scheme for 3 downs then no doubt BUT Trey, as great as he is, is rather one-dimensional and I guess the real question is does anybody really think Cinci. is going to help Trey out by lining somebody opposite of him?
You're correct that the elephant in the room is the new DC and defensive coaches and putting these guys in better spots to succeed and simplifying the scheme, if needed, which is exactly what Golden is known for. Get those LB's playing the way they did in the SB season.
We will see how we handle the Trey situation. He has value, but man, if we lose him, who do we got that can rush the passer? Nobody.
We are in a tough spot if we don't extend Trey or we even trade him. The Draft is a crap shoot and early picks are great but you never know
how a draft pick will turn out. We know what we have in Trey, just like we know what we have in Ja'Marr and even Tee.
Getting new trench coaches was a huge step if we brought in the right guys. We will see.
