No. They are hoping to kill his market so no one bids because no one will want to lose 2 firsts if we don't match it.
If we are bidding against ourselves, then the final deal is more likely to be for less. This allows Tee to negotiate with other teams (sort of). We won't have to pay $30 mil because no one will offer it.
