Rapien - Bengals Must Tag Tee Higgins

The Bengals have a couple of free agents in Higgins and Hill they need to replace or re-sign just to get back to last years 9-8 team talent level.  According to over the cap the Bengals effective cap space is about 43 million.  If they were to give Higgins 30 million, that would leave just 13 million for Chase and Hendrickson's raise/extension.  Jamarr's 5th year option will pay him 21.8 million.  If you gave JaMarr the full 13 million cap left, that would pay him 34.8 million this year when Chase will want 35+ million on average.  In this scenario Trey Hendrickson gets no raise and BJ is gone with no replacement.  I hope Burrow, Chase and Higgins can score 50 points a game or play defensive if they are going to take up that much total cap space.

I confess ignorance on the salary cap, but looking at the chart it seems that even with Burrow's big hit, the Bengals still are 26th down on the list (and one of the teams below them, Pittsburgh, doesn't even have any QB hit listed). It certainly seems that one could read the chart as the Bengals having a lot of flexibility, which should increase as they cut players. And wouldn't Chase and Hendrickson already be listed in the chart, since they have a year left on their contracts? It would appear the Bengals were in better shape than most any team.
