The bold is exactly why they CAN afford to pay Tee. If they had actually hit on some of their other high end picks (like CTB, Dax, etc) then they’d have to worry about having enough for those guys, but that didn’t happen. We can debate until we’re blue in the face whether or not they should devote so much to 4 players (Joe, Chase, Tee, Trey), but they definitely can afford it. And yes the caveat that comes with that is they will need to actually draft well and get some cheap contributors in here on defense. But that needs to happen regardless what transpires with Tee if they want to actually get back to being serious contenders.
