I know that we all wish the Bengals had a larger scouting department, one at least up to "average" for an NFL franchise. However, there is another part of the equation that must ask, are the people making the decisions on the draft selections even truly following the recommendations of the scouts and coaching staff? How often do Duke and Mike just go rogue because they've got "a good feeling" about some player?

It's really impossible to know the absolute truth, as the Bengals are so secretive about every littlest thing they do. Yeah, we occasionally hear a little tidbit about what actually transpired in the war room, several years down the line.
