A lot of his issues are just a lack of years on the field. Wasn't he a decathlete who had only played football for a relatively short time? Getting to understand all of the subtle nuances involved with adjusting routes according to what a defense is doing is tough enough for gifted athletes who have been playing football their entire lives, let alone for a guy who's still relatively new to the game.
Perhaps it's because of that Princeton brain that he's been able catch on as well as he has? In my lifetime I've seen a few Olympic sprinters fail to convert to WR in the NFL. Yoshi might never be great, but I admire him for giving it his best shot.
