If he could be had for cheap this could make sense. Gesicki may be the best TE on the market so he may get overpaid. As much as I'd push to keep him, they need DL help and if Tee stays then we will be pinching pennies even with a Burrow restructure.

I could see Mayer as a bridge TE to split time with Sample (depending on formation) and wouldn't preclude you from drafting a TE. It makes more sense to start Mayer than expect a rookie mid to late pick to start.
