Honestly, Bates was an orders magnitude bigger mistake letting leave because of his age. As I’ve mentioned multiple times here there is a very real probability that Hendricksons production over the next 3 years drops dramatically to not be nearly worth the deal he gets looking at historical data. Could he be the outlier? Maybe but between production and injury data for pass rushers over 30, not wanting to roll the dice here is actually understandable. It’s made worse by the lack of our ability to find someone with him let alone replace him, but that shouldn’t force another bad decision.
