This feels like another example of a player instead going to play out their contract only to get hopefully a mid-round comp pick.
When the Bengals told Hendrickson he could talk to other teams I hope they made it 100% clear that whatever team he talks to, they need to give the Bengals a 1st round draft pick for the trade. This way Hendrickson cant get mad if he comes back with a 2nd or 3rd round pick offer and the Bengals dont take it. The parameters should have been clearly set for Hendrickson when they gave him permission to seek a trade. You can talk to other teams but this is what we expect in return so there is no confusion.
