It's been said that the Bengals are looking to get a late 2nd to early 3rd round pick in exchange for Hendrickson. The Bengals could ask for pick #38, to which NE might suggest #77, and they could settle at pick #69. NE has enough mid and late round picks to where they could easily trade back up into that range if they see someone they want. The Bengals, on the other hand only have 6 picks total. If they can get anything close to a top 50 pick, it would be a minor victory.I agree. If the salary makes sense, we get an established NFL player. The draft pick will be cheaper, but a gamble in terms of future production - and when that future production could come.
Still would rather have a quality player, one with a few good years left in him, in exchange for Trey.
I would like a G or DT. Awful tough to get immediate production from draft picks, due to adjustment to physicality of NFL for the positions.

We are in a good place because there is no one in FA with Trey's credentials, and Teams who are in "win now" mode don't have top-15 picks to get Carter or Pearce.
drastically by the time our 2nd round pick comes around.
