Ocho, Golden took quite a bit from Freeman's style (4-3-4, 4-2-5, 3-3-5) while in Notre Dame.
Golden's 4-3 formation might as well be a 3-4, because he uses a NT flanked by a big DE on one side and a DT on the other. The DE on the opposite edge (the Vyper) is a hybrid (OLB/Edge) who rushes from a 3 point stance.
When he brought in Desai to the Bengals staff, I started thinking that he wants to sprinkle in the Fangio defense here. Which may be the case.
That then had me thinking as to how Trey would fit into the plan...... and that we need an OLB/Edge type (in addition to Ossai) and more safety help.
