I would liken this to a Riley Rieff type bridge vet that with a 2 year deal with some guaranteed money in the 2nd year. Like Rieff they were willing to have some dead money in case of injury but had to have it to sign him. High end you'd land Scherff if he fits the scheme well enough, or even a Lucas Parrick. You need a capable starter in place even for a year, the other guard spot can be for competition....not both.
