I would argue only our 3rd round pick Burton is a major concern. I loved the Newton pick in round 5. Anthony showed potential. Ali was doing very well until injured. Lee and our 2nd TE McClachlan toosoon to evalaute. Johnson showed some positives as well.

It is a huge win to get 1 very good starter in year 1. We have a chance for the 2025 class to be very good in next couple of years. Again, coaches need to develop these athletes. Other than Burton, I did not see bad rookeis.

Our FA signing of Rankins was the worst addition of the year. Keeping Cappa was the worst move keeping a player who had digressed starting in 2023

However the 2024 class shakes out we've still had many misses in the top rounds lately and picks that sure seem headed down miss lane.

2021 Rd 2 Carman - gone, Rd 3 Ossai - hasn't been picked back up

2022 Rd 1 Dax Hill still big question mark Rd 2 Taylor - Britt ummmmm  Rd 3 Z. Carter - gone

2023 Rd 1 Murphy - I'm praying not but he is shaping up hard as a bust. Rd 2 DJ turner ??? Rd 3 Jordan Battle ???

2024 Rd 3 Burton is the poster child for sure seems a big bust. As you say

I remember hearing an announcer saying during a fairly early in the season game, and I forget who he named but several of our top (recent) picks only had like 12 snaps or something! And this was like game 4 or so.

That's nine top draft picks that are either already gone, may well be cut this season or need semi major to very major turn arounds or they're busts.

Their batting average needs a really hot month at the plate to get this thing headed back in the right direction.
