This is the NFL highlight video they made of Joe Burrow for this season. I wouldn’t have believed it if you told me but almost LITERALLY every breakdown in protection until Cody Ford had to play tackle was from an A-gap blitz or a PLAIN OL’ stunt. Coaches weren’t even hitting us with elite level shit. It was simple run of the mill stunts and a-gap blitzes aimed at Volson and Cappa. When Ford came in for Brown it was all shit but specifically look at the plays where Burrow had to do magic…..98% were cause Volson or Cappa couldn’t handle a standard stunt.
We cut Cappa but man we probably should cut Volson too. I could see him getting Burrow hurt.
We seemed to fair well when it was just 1 on 1 straight 5 vs 4 rushing lineman with no stunts but whenever a team did a stunt it was a wrap. Cappa and Volson often times BOTH lost on the same play, forcing Burrow to be God.
If Burrow didn’t get the ball out so quickly we would be a totally different team
