If he had 7-8 sacks a year he's easily in the top 10. Adain Hutchinson had 4.5 sacks in his first 3 years in college. That's the same number as SS.
I'd be down with him at 17 bit I like shiny stuff.
I'm very "on the fence" about him but, like it said his physical traits are hard to ignore.
But the thing to me is this - Who knows what's going to happen with Trey? And if he ends up not being a DE for us this season ummm... I don't have a lot of faith in Murphy or any of the others behind him. Hubbard is gone and I'm just not sure we're not going to be forced into a position where we almost have to get pass rushers at the top of the draft?
Stewart, Ezeiruaku, Pearce Jr.,and Sawyer are probably among the ones available at 17. And I'm just not sure going in whatever other position direction (TE,S,CB,WR) at 17 and relying on an edge in the 2nd round or later is a good strategy?
Hell even if Jalon Walker happens to still be available at 17 (I doubt it) I wouldn't be opposed to taking him.
I just strongly feel we have to get a lot better on the Dline.
