Dunn and Herd a Bees in, Fairchild out
#3
Terry Francona passionately speaks about baseball as if he has tons of information that he can give out at any moment on any particular topic . . . David Bell, in his dull, monotonous delivery, seemed to always be searching for the right things to say, even in obvious situations. I really loved his answer about his thoughts on the bullpen at the 5:25 mark. "Can I tell ya, in like, a couple of months?" He doesn't know these guys. He's never gone to war with them.

I never truly understand the DFA after they clear waivers.
Sometimes they're gone from the franchise and off of their books.
Sometimes they re-sign them to a minor league contract and it's like they never left? Does it re-start their options? Is it basically a demotion from the protection of the 40 man roster? DFA was just something that I heard about a decade or so ago when a team found a loophole to get out from a huge contract. Before that a player was just cut, released or placed on waivers.
