How bad is the rest of the -dline at pass rushing?

She's basically saying,.We have a number. He needs to like it as we aren't going to his number.

Danielle Hunter is the guy that likely will be whom the Bengals look at for deal amount and structure.
Hunter, turning 31 years old in October and coming off a 3rd straight 10+ sack season, just signed a 1-year extension for $35.6 mill for 2026 to go along with the 2-year, $49 mill contract he signed with HOU in the 2024 offseason.
Across 3 seasons, averages out to $28.2 mill APY.

And Hendrickson has been even better than him, so he should be able to easily argue 2-year or 3-year, $30+ mill APY contract.
We don't know what the Bengals offered him, but it was likely lower guaranteed than he would like and also likely not more than 2 years given Hendrickson also turns 31 this coming December.

If I'm Hendrickson though, I'm looking for $50+ mill guaranteed regardless of a 2-year or 3-year new deal. That would help safeguard in case of being let go final year of contract if something happens or lower sack production by 32-33 years old.

Bengals really have nothing to stand on right now to justify lower pay though other than trends with age, as Hendrickson has 14+ sacks in three of the four seasons he's played for them, including 35 in the last two.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
