They extended Tee in large part due to public pressure by Chase and Burrow (IMO), and I am not sure they’d have done it otherwise. All that to say that I think Trey deserves to be paid, but I believe the Bengals see it as a business situation where they have all the leverage, and they aren’t giving that up easily or at all.
Now what would be VERY interesting is if Burrow used his bully pulpit to do on some media outlets and speak about Trey the way he has in the past about him, and on Tee’s behalf. That might change the dynamic a bit for this round of the negotiations.
I think the Bengals want to get younger and save some money..nothing wrong with that..But I also think that this public back and forth is perhaps a negotiation and just maybe both parties will come away happy
