Notice how after Reader left or was injured, our LB's appear to be slow and bad here. Having a dominant line in front helps a LB so much.
The Burks signing was a decent replacement for ADG. Would have preferred younger as he's 31, but it is what it is. Can't spend $5 million a year on every position.
For sure, have to hope our youth develops under our new DL coach Montgomery to free up our Linebackers and Secondary to make plays.
Bad communication was also a part of this as our players seemed unsure on Defense and weren't reacting quickly.
I blame a lot of this on our Defensive coaching. Keep the Defense simple so they can go out and make plays. I think Burks could make some
plays for us and shine even if he is older, he has seen a lot in the NFL under some great players.
