Alex Trevino has two games with two hits.
Luke Maile had three total games last year with two hits, two of which were his last two games as a Red raising his season average from .157 to .178.
Great day for Friedl . . . except for one boneheaded play . . . I don't entirely blame him for forgetting the number of outs in a long inning with a pitching change . . . kind of 'side-eyeing' the 1st base coach, though. A possible blessing in disguise for the team of young players that a teaching moment like this happened in a win.
Singer is legit. He's going to be facing a lot of #4 and #5 starters for a bit. 25 runs for support on 2 starts. Plus, as I was taught as a pitcher, a quick pace on the mound while throwing strikes keeps your defenders on their toes and they usually seem to be more alert at the plate.
