Carter reads, reacts and gets downhill so quickly that blockers can have a difficult time reaching him on zone runs. He slips blocks and sifts through traffic without taking his eyes off the ball carrier. Carter ran well on his pro day, which shows up on his film when he's chasing inside out. In pass coverage, he keeps up with tight ends and can pick up running backs in the flat. Carter effectively spies the QB, too, with 12.5 sacks over the past three seasons.
