Brooks is Texas Tech's all-time leading rusher, and the third Big 12 player in history to rush for more than 1,500 yards in consecutive seasons. He is a patient between-the-tackles runner with the strength to break tackles. He ran the fourth-quickest short shuttle regardless of position at the combine -- his quick feet show up on tape. Brooks makes defenders miss in the hole and in space. He doesn't straight blow by defenders, but he tested well at the combine.
