Whose side on you on? Trey, the Bengals or none?
#39
I find it difficult to believe that any Team would pay him $35.5 annually over 3-4 years with 50-60% guaranteed - irrespective of what the pocket talking heads say/write.

I view the conversation of trade as follows:
Trey's agent: We want a three year $107.5M contract, 60% guaranteed, and a first rounder to Bengals.
NFL GM: We would love to give your guy the contract (BS), but just don't have the draft capital we can afford a first rounder, but would be willing to give a day 2 early pick. Fully knowing the Bengals would not accept.

I don't feel the Bengals are asking too much. I feel that Teams who are contenders, have to pay others and just can't afford this guy's contract expectations. Teams who are not contenders, don't view a 30 year old, coming onto his third Team, as face-of-franchise player to satisfy their fans.

His best option is to stay with the Bengals. If he doesn't understand that, then its an issue of awareness. If he understands that, the its an issue of misplaced greed.

Currently, he is not on Burrow's or Chase's level, but more on Higgin's level, in terms of pecking order. So, the offer is solid on the part of Bengals.

The sharks were circling us this year, thinking they could get a bite at Higgins and possibly Chase. The Bengals have gone beyond my expectations in signing Chase, Higgins, Hill and Gisecki. The drama that Trey is creating is just disappointing.

Sign the $28M offer, so we can move onto Scherff at RG!!!
