People say they aren't obligated to pay him. Fine. What they should be obligated to do is field a competent defense. If anyone thinks that happens as constructed without him, then you're kidding yourself.

The clock is ticking on the prime years of the best player ever to wear stripes. Every year that they fail to put a team around Burrow that can go deep into the playoffs is an indictment on this ownership. Anyone really think that if they let him walk and the defense sucks that it won't be a huge point of emphasis among fans and in the media?
