Was Trey asking for a new contract and the Bengals said "here's a 1 year and we'll take care of you if continue to play well". Did his agent say let's not do this deal it may not work out well and Trey said I trust them let's do it?. Just unknowns. Look at Tee. Everyone was glad he got rid of his agent and got Chase's agent. The deal gets done and it's clear the agent made some exceptions for the Bengals. So obviously Tee wanted it to get done and the agent let it.
Just seems to be two sides where we blame the agent either way. Either they hold the Bengals to a contract that every other team does and they are too hard to work with. Or they give the player what they want and they take a "bad deal".
We aren't blaming Ja'Marr's agent. The deals got done with that agent.
Both Tee's old agent and Trey's current agent didn't get it done. If I was Trey I would follow suit and do what Tee did.

For sure, would be tragic if it went that way.
I think a deal will get done, but I think it might take Trey getting a new agent as I keep beating this dead horse.
