Breech is the second or third worst long-time starting K in our history (even below Fat Randy), only Rackers (and he technically wasn't long-term. Pelfrey would be the other one) is worse.

You need to compare them to their peers in terms of percentage, makes, clutch factor, etc. Breech was never top 10 in anything, outside of maybe 1 year (I can't remember exactly, but I wrote a post like this a year or two ago), he was awful compared to his peers. He just kicked for us for a long time, that's all.

It's like Mason Crosby: the guy was a shitty K for SO LONG, people think he was great because GB decided to keep him around. Look at this numbers when compared to his peers, they are not great at all.

By the numbers, Shayne is our best K ever, but Evan will surpass him in a couple of years unless something catastrophic happens.

71.4 % career FG % sustained over 14 years, 95.9% on PAT. 9 for 11 in Post season games, and perfect in two Super Bowls. I realize Evan was injured last year, but his performance has gone steadily south since his first year.
