Thanks for starting the thread. I considered doing it a couple times this year, but then talked myself into educating myself on all the players at every spot and making informed choices, and it was too much work, so I wimped out. :)
Plus, deciding how many to take at each spot, what the base is gonna be (3 WE, 2 RB, 2 TE, 43, 34, nickel, etc) is tough. Or do you pick a 53 that can do it all?
Anyway, you have encouraged me to go for it but I will just post my initial thoughts and reserve the right to switch later upon getting better info.
Off the top of my head:
QB (3): Anderson, Esiason, Burrow
RB (3): Brooks, Dillon, Mixon
FB (1): P. Johnson
WR (6): C. Johnson, Green, Chase; Curtis, Collinsworth, Pickens
TE (3): Trumpy, Holman, Ross
OT (3): Munoz, Willie; Whitworth
OG (3): Montoya, Lapham, Zeitler
C (2): Johnson, Braham.
-------------
DE (4): Hendrickson, Dunlap; Bacon, Edwards
DT/NT(4): Atkins, Krumrie; Reid, Peko
LB (5): Williams, LeClar, Burfict; Bergey, Francis
CB (5): Riley, Parrish, Hall; Jones, Breeden
S (4): Fulcher, Cassanova; Bates, Nelson
--------
PK (1): Breech
P (1): McInally
LS (1): Harris
PR/KR: Parrish & Jones (no spots added)
That is 24 on O and 22 on D. 3 ST.
I am light at TE, OL, DE, DT, & CB. And there is no true backup SS on that squad. Nor a true slot WR. Both Bacon & Reid have inside/out versatility.
I tried to grab at least 1 LB who could feasibly play every pissible LB role:
43 MLB: LeClair, Bergey, Burfict
34 ILB/Nickel ILB: same
34 ROLB: Williams
34 LOLB: Francis
43 OLB: Williams, Burfict
Probably need another LB as well

That is it above 50. Though AV rewards longevity. Though some guys had better AV/year or AV/game over shorter timeframes.
I will do 40s later.
I did not pick Scott or Brown because I already had 2 deep threats in Chase/Curtis, 2 big WRs in AJ/Pickens, and 2 route runners in Ocho/CC.
I will do some more research & come back. WR5 & WR6 were tough for me, as was P, and taking Bacon at DE, and the LB choices after Williams & LeClair. Everything else pretty straightforward.
And outside of Dalton/Palmer/Robinson, all our multiple PB guys are on, and I think QB4/QB5Cshould not make it,,and Robinson had 2 great years and that was baducally it.
No one else jumps out as getting robbed outside of the WR choices left off (Housh, Brown, Boyd, Scott, Tee), and there is tough comp there. Maybe I go 7.
