what we saw from Cappa last year as far as play on the field lately. BTW, heard the injury wasn't bad and he is out there today which is great news.
It's not so much "hate" towards the guy as much as realistically acknowledging who he is. He's a career backup, coming off of a season where he finished the season rated as the 79th/136 Guards in pass protection. (that's only the 41st percentile, btw). He's heading into his 9th year in the league and still has never grabbed and held the starter spot, it's not like he's going to all of a sudden step in and start dominating.
The truth is that the team is betting on new coaching and draft picks to patch the OL by, they as usual, did the very least they could do to fill an open spot after cutting Cappa. So nobody hating on Patrick, just tempering the expectations of some that he might be "much better than what we had", and casting a little shade toward the team management for their roster building methodology. Hell, I know that Patrick has to be a smart guy, he played and graduated from Duke Univ. I'm hoping for the best out of him, just not expecting anything spectacular.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations
