They need a lot of practice. Defensive coverages are fascinating and can become quite complex, especially for things like pattern matching.
Golden runs zone and man but has a preference for man coverage.
Cornerback is the most isolated position on the field and a lot of it relies on instincts.
I agree that it would be better if he were here, but it shouldn't really impact his play.
