You mention the lack of hotel space, yet then attack the concept?
Do you know how many rooms would be added with a 40 story hotel? The MGM Grand has 38 floors and the largest stand alone in the world. They could build one in Cincy complete with a casino.
Why would it not work? If it adds, 8000 rooms, they would help the cause to get big events in my opinion. Big Events equals big bucks and tax revenue for the city and the county.
Right now over 30,000 rooms just in Cincy metro area. This new hotel would add 25% more rooms.

I went to the Super Bowl in LA, it had many issues one being hotels. My hotel was i Beverly Hills and it was over an hour in traffic to get to the parking lot to get on a bus for an hour to get to the game and back.
My guess is if you factor in Greater Cincy and Dayton areas, we would no longer have hotel issues if we built a super hotel downtown.
